You could almost feel sorry for the cattle in the field, but they didn’t seem to mind. Meandering from one end of the field to an other, grazing as the go. Stopping every now and again to check me out or give an approving nod.

This was taken on the longest day of the year 2008, a grey and miserable day. Some might say a typical Irish summers day. As dull as it was, I headed to Ennistymon in County Clare. I have passed this field with its dry stone walls many times and have thought to myself, there’s an image there....but not yet. A dull day was what I was looking for... something to add mood and atmosphere to the shot.

It had rained in the morning and the afternoon was filled with the threat of more rain. Every now and again the sun would try its best to sneak a peak from its cloudy veil only to be stolen away by more clouds.
